Geography: Azerbaijan covering 86,600 sq. km, is located in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. Three physical features dominate Azerbaijan: the Caspian Sea, whose shoreline forms a natural boundary to the east; the Greater Caucasus mountain range to the north; and the extensive flatlands at the country’s center.

Electricity- In Azerbaijan the standard voltage is 220 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. You can use your electric appliances in Azerbaijan, if the standard voltage in your country is in between 220 – 240 V (as is in the UK, Europe, Australia and most of Asia and Africa).
Tipping– It is not necessary to tip for service in Azerbaijan, such as at restaurants, bars, taxis, airports and hotels. However, hotels and some restaurants indicate an additional service charge on their bills or menus, respectively.
